About Adopt a Plant
Adopt a Plant is a community where people share plant cuttings and whole plants for free. No payments, no marketplace, just plants finding new homes.
How it works
- 1Post a cutting or plant you want to give away, or a wanted ad for one you are looking for.
- 2People in your country send a request. Swaps let you ask for something in return.
- 3Accept a request; the adopter shares a shipping address privately.
- 4Ship with any carrier and add the tracking number, so the adopter can follow it in the app.
- 5Once it arrives, mark it received and leave each other a review.
Always free
Plants are never sold. No money changes hands between members, and nothing here is for sale. If someone asks you to pay for a plant, report them.
Same country only
Plants only travel within one country. You see listings from your own country and requests from abroad are not possible. That keeps shipping short and affordable, gentler on the plant, and clear of customs and plant-health rules.
Privacy first
Your exact location is never shown. Listings display your locality and a point moved by up to 1 km. Shipping addresses are only exchanged after a request is accepted.
Shipping
The giver ships the plant. Shipping costs are arranged between you outside the app. Many people simply split the postage.
